As a youth group grows and develops, it is important that we pray for guidance and wisdom as our members seek to answer life’s questions. Here are a few useful tips on how to best pray for your youth group:
Ask God for Guidance and Insight
Pray that the Lord will guide, protect, and direct each member of your youth group. Pray that God will provide understanding, insight, and clarity as they seek His guidance in their lives. Ask the Lord to give wisdom that surpasses our own understanding and trust in Him with all things.
Pray for Unity Within the Group
Pray that the spirit of unity would spread throughout your church as each individual within your youth group can learn from one another’s strengths and weaknesses. Ask God to help everyone recognize their talents with joy and humility so that everyone can benefit from them. Pray for spiritual bonding among members, encouraging growth in all areas of life; from faith-based activities like Bible study or prayer meetings, to recreational events such as hang outs or sports.
Pray That Hearts Would be Changed By Jesus
Above all else, pray that Jesus Christ be made known and revered within the hearts of each member in your youth group. Pray that individuals will come to understand and appreciate His unconditional love through hearing teachable moments touched on during weekly meetings or social gatherings. Ask God to lead conversations with others about Him so those who may not know Him personally can gain a better appreciation of what He has done in their lives individually or together as a group.
Youth groups have an incredible opportunity to make an impact on their community by preaching Jesus’ message of grace and hope! With prayerful consideration over these three points listed above may every meeting be filled with spiritual richness and growth for every person involved!
