The Old Testament writers
The Old Testament books were written over roughly a thousand years, mostly in Hebrew with some Aramaic. Tradition credits Moses with writing the first five books, known as the Torah. Other Old Testament books are attributed to Israel’s prophets and other writers, including Isaiah and Jeremiah.
The New Testament writers
The New Testament books were written in Greek during the first century AD by the apostles of Jesus and their close associates, including Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul.
How the books were recognized as scripture
Which books belonged in the Bible was settled gradually rather than by a single discovery. Early church leaders discussed and affirmed the list of New Testament books at regional councils, including the Council of Hippo in AD 393 and the Council of Carthage in AD 397. The books of the Old Testament had already been recognized as scripture by Jewish communities long before that.
So no single person “found” the Bible. It was written by many authors over many centuries and recognized as scripture by the communities who received it.
