Jesus replied, “Yes, come and eat.” The man then asked Jesus why he had not eaten anything. Jesus replied, “I have been hungry and you have not fed me, I have been thirsty and you have not given me drink, I have been a stranger and you have not welcomed me, I have been naked and you have not clothed me, I have been sick and you have not visited me.” The man then asked, “Why did you not do these things?” Jesus replied, “Because you did not give me a chance.” The man then said, “I will give you a chance.” Jesus replied, “I do not need a chance, I have given you everything.” The man then said, “Lord, even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ tables.” Jesus replied, “Yes, but the master of the house will come and find the dog eating his crumbs.” The man then said, “Yes, Lord.” Jesus replied, “Truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day.”

Summary of Sunday School Lesson

In Sunday School this morning, we studied the passage from Matthew 9:35-10:8. In this passage, Jesus tells a story of a man who went to visit his father in prison. When he arrives, he finds that his father has already died. The man is so sad that he decides to go back home. However, on the way, he meets a Samaritan woman who is also traveling home. The woman asks the man for a drink of water. The man says that he doesn’t have any water to give her. The woman then tells the man that she has been married five times and that her husband is always away on business. The man then tells the woman to go ahead and go home, but to come back and see him later. The woman agrees and the man goes on his way.

In today’s lesson, we discussed how the man in the story represents us. We also discussed how the woman in the story represents us. Finally, we discussed how the story teaches us about forgiveness.

Reflection on the importance of Jesus’s mission, compassion, and call to the disciples

Jesus’ mission was to save people from their sins and to bring them into a relationship with God. His compassion was shown when he healed the sick and fed the hungry. His call to the disciples was to follow him and spread his message of love and forgiveness. These teachings are important to remember and reflect on every Sunday.
